Chapter 14
AFTER finishing breakfast, Pat noticed that he and Dean had an extra twenty minutes to kill before they had to both leave for work. It was now or never.
Pat stood up, opened his pants and let them drop to the floor as Dean watched. Pat then shoved down his underwear so that he was fully exposed to Dean’s gaze.
“Ah, honey, is this some new way of asking me for a blow job before work?”
“While that would be preferable, no. You said you’d kick the guy in the balls if you ever found out who gave the order to fire on the armed robbers at the bank. Well, it was me. So if you’re going to carry through with what you said, let’s get it over with quickly!”
“What? I thought you said that some crazy captain gave that order,” Dean said, blushing slightly.
“Well, technically that’s correct. Captain St. James gave the order.”
“Who?”
“Me, using a different rank on scene. It’s not important why.”
“For God’s sake, pull up your pants! Your balls are looking for a secure place to hide! Damn fine day when you find out that your husband almost got your ass killed!” Dean said as he placed the dishes in the dishwasher.
“Are you mad at me?” Pat asked sheepishly.
“Was that the best decision you could have made under the circumstances?”
“Yes. Every other alternative had them taking you and Shawn out of the area and most likely killing you both after dumping you out of the car. I figured the odds were better executing the plan I came up with.”
“Well, except for the piece of the one guy’s skull that took a liking to my throat, I guess the plan worked pretty well. The bad guys died and the good guys lived, albeit traumatized beyond all understanding!”
“Does that mean you are pissed at me?” Pat said with a confused look on his face.
“No, it does not mean I’m pissed at you! Oh come ’ere,” Dean said as he opened his arms.
Pat felt a sense of relief as he walked into Dean’s open arms and they hugged each other. Pat felt Dean’s knee moving up between his legs and backed the lower part of his body way back from Dean.
Dean started to laugh, and they broke the hug.
“Honey, my life would have been over if either you or Shawn were killed at the bank. I’m so glad it worked out the way it did,” Pat stated.
“Yeah, well, Shawn’s Mustang is screwed up from hitting that curb to get up to the bank entrance. He’s pretty bummed about that. Thank you for telling me, and it was very smart of you to hold off telling me for a while. If you had told me that night, you really might have needed brass balls to replace the natural ones you had once upon a time.”
They kissed, said their good-byes, and left the house in separate vehicles.
